Here is how this works in practice. We give underwater camera ops for shoots filming beneath the surface. Feature scenes, documentary sequences, commercials and marine wildlife coverage. Croatia's Adriatic is exceptionally clear and warm through the summer. Our operators know the dive sites among the islands of Hvar, Brač, Vis and Korčula where visibility, depth and light suit the shot. Each operator is a qualified diver as well as a camera technician, working in housed cinema systems and able to pull focus, manage exposure and hold framing while neutrally buoyant.

Here is the short of it. We assemble the full underwater unit — safety divers, surface planning, dive supervisors and the topside data team. And plan freshwater alternatives in the Plitvice and Krka systems or the Cetina river where a production needs different water. Tank and controlled-set work rounds out the options for sequences that cannot rely on open water.

Here is the breakdown. Underwater shooting in Croatia is set by the same standards as elsewhere. Qualified crews, robust safety planning and respect for the marine environment, specific inside covered zones such as Mljet National Park and the Kornati archipelago, where filming permits are set up through HAVC and the regional film commissions. HAVC, the Croatian Audiovisual Centre, administers the 'Filming in Croatia' 25% cash rebates. This extends to underwater service shoots that qualifies on local spend.

Here is what that looks like on the ground. The prime season runs from late spring through autumn, when the Adriatic is warmest and calmest, and our operators schedule dive days around sea state and the bura wind.
